
I recently had the privilege of interviewing Victor Fan, competitive bodybuilder and fitness enthusiast. Victor is married to Candice Fan, a competitive bodybuilder. They live with in Tennessee with their two children. I was able to ask Victor a few question so that he could give us some insight on the lifestyle, training, and family dynamics of two competitive bodybuilders.
What motivated you to become interested in bodybuilding and when did you start?
Started weightlifting at age 18 to get chicks. Lol
Didn’t start competing until age 45, when my wife challenged me to take the diet seriously and compete in one show, just to say I did it.
What’s your current training regiment/split like, currently?
I only train each major body part once a week.
Sun- chest
Mon- arms
Tue- legs
Wed- rest or cardio
Thu- shoulders
Fri- back
Sat- touch up anything that didn’t get hit hard enough.
Walk us through a typical day for you? What do your meals look like?
6 meals a day, 3 hours apart.
Off season/ bulking:
1- 6 whole eggs/ 1 cup oatmeal (dry measurement)
2- 8 oz lean protein / 8 oz carbs ( white or brown rice, russet potatoes or sweet potatoes.
3- same as meal 2
4- same
5- same except I eat a red
Meat for protein.
6. Same as meal 1
Do you use supplements? If so, what are your go-to supplements?
Multi vitamins, fish oil, a fat burner.
I try to avoid pre-workouts and too many supplements. I prefer real food
What’s your favorite cheat meal?
Hot wings and beer
What’s your favorite body part to train?
Chest and arms. Like every dude
What is life like in your household, with two competitive bodybuilders?
Very structured and organized. It helps a lot that we are both into the lifestyle. It’s almost impossible to be a happy couple when you have different goals and lifestyles.
